Gore And Bush Lodge Arguments With Florida Supreme Court
November 19, 2000
Vice-President Al Gore's lawyers have lodged the brief containing the arguments for Monday's hearing in the Florida Supreme Court which will determine the fate of new vote tallies following recounts in a number of Florida counties.
As required by the Court, Governor George W. Bush has also lodged his response to the Gore brief.
The Court will take oral arguments in the case at 2pm on Monday (6am Tuesday Australian time). The hearing will be telecast live and on the Internet at Gavel To Gavel.
Latest counting in Florida still has Bush ahead of Gore by 930 votes. New figures are expected to be released on Monday. Miami-Dade County, the largest and most pro-Democratic county in the State, has yet to commence its manual recount.
